Principal

Erin Cooperrider is an experienced housing developer, having successfully completed many new construction and acquisition/rehabilitation projects in Maine. She joined NewHeight group in 2015 and manages project design, permitting, financing, and construction. Chip Newell

Principal

Stewart P. (Chip) Newell has been in a principal position in the real estate development business for over 30 years. He has been associated with residential, communities, hotels, office buildings and retail real estate. These days, Chip gives much of his time to non profits in Maine. He is on the board of CEI and CVI, the board and Treasurer of the Maine Center of Economic Development (MECEP), board and Treasurer of Community Housing of Maine (CHOM) and serves on the Maine Community Foundation Cumberland County Committee. Emily McConnell

Emily joined NewHeight Group after seven years of experience with Maine Home+Design and Maine magazines, managing the back offices of all of the companies under Maine Media Collective ownership.  She brought to NewHeight Group extensive experience in bookkeeping, budgeting, financial analysis, problem solving, and customer service and has become an associate of the firm.

Susan Morris was Co-founder and Principal of NewHeight Group from 2001 until 2019. Significant highlights included the development of a trio of condo projects in Portland’s East End, 118 on Munjoy Hill, Luminato, and Verdante at Lincoln Park, and four mixed use/condo projects in Washington, DC. Almost all of the seven projects sold out prior to construction being completed. Together with partner, Chip Newell, Susan built a reputation for strengthening communities through thoughtful development.
Susan’s ability to capitalize on demographic trends and consumers’ changing lifestyle choices brought focus to the creation of each project. Her leadership, strategic approach and follow through and ways of energizing those around her furthered the accomplishments and culture of NewHeight Group.
